Food for Thought (Indians Tix)

I had access to Indians tickets for today's game, but due to time factors, could not make it.
But for future reference to anyone, I will have access again and welcome anyone who would like to go. Let me know and I'll keep it in mind next when I get them / they are offered to me.

iTunes Issues Today

Is anyone else having issues (on and off) with connecting to the
iTunes store today, whether via pc tethering or the app store from the
i Phone?
Perhaps in relation to today's update release, possibly server
overload... Hmm

Tracked first ride last night...

I did a cross ride in Chagrin last night, and tracked it... using for the first time the EveryTrail app on my iPhone that I had mentioned previously.
It's pretty sweet. I uploaded the data last night after and briefly looked at the map, showing my trail, and the photos I shot along the way (58). Pretty sweet and exciting.
I will be posting it later with the link, along with a short review on it and some more details of how it worked and such.

Riding Today and This Last Weekend

Great day today... doin' my usual, takin' the bike with me (Jake) to do some ridin' later (CX).
Probably CF area, or some metros near Cleveland... I also was contemplating the Mayfield area metroparks. We'll see.
I ride none the less, but today I'm making it more of a point, because to no surprise, it looks as if it is going to rain tomorrow... therefore nixing our weekly Wed Nite Ride.

I also will be trying out the EveryTrail app (iPhone) on today's ride. I'm excited to do so, we'll see how that goes.

This last weekend was a fun and eventful one. Friday I went to a get together at a (new) friends house, having food and drinks with a good group of people. They are new friends that I had met via some old friends, from around the Chagrin Falls arena. Following that we went to the Greenville and had more drinks and fun. Good people, good times. Here's to more.
Saturday was a bit of work and then I had to go to a memorial service
in the afternoon for one of my long time friends (for his mother to be exact). It was a very nice service, and following that we went to... the Ville! Yes! His mom was friends with the old owners of it, so they had an after party there. I already had a ride going on at 7pm that night, but everything meshed well. So we all ventured on to the Ville after, and I stayed there for a short bit, having to leave soon for the road ride (which was in Chagrin with the bike shop, mtnroadcycles.com). It looked grey out at first, but by ride time the sky opened up and we had a great ride- about 12 miles around the Chagrin area. We rode Washington to Savage, cutting over to Chagrin Bainbridge Road, then, lol, down into town right by the VILLE... continuing into town then around the neighborhoods, out Franklin, cutting off down the metropark trails to River, Solon, Cannon, and back into Chagrin.
We then as planned, went to Trifles restaurant next door for excellent food and drink (and actually Dori was there with a party herself for a friends bday). Stayed there a bit, chatted, ate, drank one, then was back to the Ville to meet back up with the party from earlier. I drank a good amount. Jack was involved. Some people left, I stayed with some other friends and had again a great time. I was done by night's end! Again more good times.
Needless to say, I did NOTHING Sunday. We didn't have practice either. It was a lazy day... 'I did nothing and it was the best thing I ever did' (Office Space :-P)

Blog Services / Apps, Trail Tracking and App for That

I'll start off right quick with the short and sweet...
Found an app for iPhone called Everytrail for tracking bike ride time and such, as well as being able to shoot pics on the trip and post them to your own account on their site (which is everytrail.com), and it is set up as a slide show to show the pix from the trips. I will be trying this out soon. See site for more details.
There's also an app for Facebook for Everytrail, or you can 'share' right off Every's web site.
Doing some research about another iPhone app, I came across apptism.com (should be fairly obvious what that is about :-P)
Oh and I have an iPhone app installed that gives me a mouse and keyboard to control my computer! ;-)

And finally, blogging. As I had said, I have a set up to be able to do so via mobile and post to directly Blogger and Facecrook simultaneously... but I'm still on the hunt for an iPhone app possibly, that does this- One I've found is Blogpress... it looks good and has good reviews... but it's a pay app. Now, I have no issue with paying for apps, but sometimes it's a waste of money. Usually there's a 'lite' version that's free to get the gist of it, but for this one there is not. It's three bucks and I will probably just get it... it's only three clams. But I'm also a person who's big on principal! I've tried some of the free ones, and after time they aren't anything great. Or there's some hook, like the app is free, but you have to buy an account on their website to use it. Not interested. At that point I'll just stick with the Blogger set up.
And wit that, the next subject... blog services. I use blogger. I have Gmail. It's a nice knit. Live Journal. Pttht. I have Wordpress (iPhone app as well)... I don't know if, for my habits of use of this, using Blogger is just as fine. And then of course there's just many other services and apps, and ... tired. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

MY brain stopped (Prob due to two nights at the Ville haha). So we're done here. :-P

Quote II : 06.12.09

This is another good one...

'If you never have expectations... you'll never be disappointed'

Quote : 06.12.09

'When met with hostilities; let the violence of others prove your point.'
-Paul Hamad

I particularly like this quote because frankly, it's true, and in my opnion applies so well in todays society. It's takes a second, but think about it...

This was written by my friend Paul Hamad recently, whom is also a philosophy professor. I randomly assumed that he had found this quote somewhere, it being one dated from long ago from another philosophy figure or any one for that matter.
Good stuff.

Trial Run : Blogging and 'The Soup Pot' (No soup for you!)

So this is the first run of me writing a 'note' (or as I use it, blog)
to Facebook via my mobile device (iPhone). There isn't a way to do it
directly with the iPhone Facebook app, but I've set it up with
Facebook and my Blogger account (which I'd want updated at the same
time anyway), so I post to Blogger from my mobile (no, not via http in
a browser) and it then automatically posts the same post as 'note' to
Facebook. I used the 'My Blog' app on FB a while ago, but it simply
just did not work. I dubbed 'notes' on FB as my blog... and with a bit
of effort, have this set up now to be able to blog on the go with my
mobile device.
Now that that's out of the way, the next trial run today is / was 'The
Soup Pot'. This is a new restaurant (carry out style) place in Solon
that mainly sells soups. I had seen it previously in my many ventures
through Solon, but never stopped... which is odd because I am a soup
lover, and more so, have many a time struggled with 'where to get some
soup!'.
This would be the case whether it was lunch or dinner time (even
breakfast... ok j/k). There aren't really many fast or convenient
places to get (more so good) soup. I think this was a great idea on
their part.
So today I ventured. I didn't study for too long, but they seem to
have an array of soups... they also serve breakfast, and do have a few
other select items like specialty salads and other food. But mainly
soup. Which is the whole idea of the place. I got traditional chicken
soup... it's what I was in the mood for, plain and simple. I'll
naturally go another time to try something a bit different. Today was
just about checking it out quick.
The soup I had was very good. I think a soup store is a brilliant
idea. I love specialty.
When I walked in, the first and only thing I could think of was the
show Seinfeld and 'The Soup Nazi'...
NO SOUP FOR YOU! :-P
